About Snake Tangle

Snake Tangle turns the old snake idea into a planning puzzle. Your snake does not wander freely: once it sets off in a direction, it keeps going in a straight line until an obstacle or the edge of the maze stops it. Getting it to its prey means picturing where each slide will end, and where the snake will sit afterwards, before you commit.

Position is everything. The snake's current length and placement shape which paths are still open, and a careless slide can box it into a corner with no way out. Every level brings a new maze, and the layouts grow tighter as you go, with more complex obstacles and narrower corridors. Further on, the puzzles add pressure of their own: some barriers move, some levels run on a time limit, and some allow only a limited number of swipes, so wasted moves start to hurt.

How to play Snake Tangle

Objective

Steer the snake through each maze to its prey, planning every straight-line slide so it never ends up trapped by obstacles or its own length.

Getting started

  1. Study the maze before moving, finding the prey, the obstacles and the boundary edges that will halt each slide.
  2. Choose a first direction knowing the snake will travel straight until something blocks it, then check where it stopped.
  3. Keep the snake's length and position in mind after every move, because they decide which routes are still open.
  4. Chain slides that use walls and obstacles as stopping points until the snake finally reaches its prey.
  5. On later levels, look out for moving barriers, a time limit or a cap on swipes, and plan the full route first.

Tips

  • Treat every obstacle as a brake: the snake only stops when it hits one or the maze edge, so pick slides that end exactly where you need them.
  • When a level limits swipes, count the slides your route needs before the first move, because a detour you could afford earlier may not fit.
  • Avoid sliding into dead-end pockets; with straight-line movement the snake may have no direction left that leads back out.
  • Moving barriers change the maze while you think, so time a slide for the moment the path you want is clear.

Snake Tangle FAQ

Why does the snake keep sliding in Snake Tangle?

That is the core rule. The snake moves in a straight line until it runs into an obstacle or the maze boundary, so it cannot stop halfway. Each move has to be chosen with its end point in mind.

What makes later Snake Tangle levels harder?

Each new level brings a fresh maze with more complex obstacles and narrower paths. Later stages also add moving barriers, time limits and a limited number of swipes, which leave far less room for careless moves.

Can the snake get stuck in a Snake Tangle maze?

Yes. Because it only travels in straight lines and you have to account for its length and position, a poor move can leave it with no useful path. Planning a few slides ahead keeps the route to the prey open.
