About Flag Memory Match

Flag Memory Match lays out a grid of plain blue-grey cards on a pale page, with the level, the title and your score in a white bar above. Turning a card over reveals a waving flag, and the bar swaps the title for that country's name, so every flip also tells you what you are looking at. Turn a second card: if the flags are the same, both get a green frame and stay up; if not, they flip back after a moment. The first board is a 4 by 4 grid of eight pairs.

The header counts six levels, and the boards grow quickly. Level 2 is a 6 by 6 grid with 18 pairs, and level 3 jumps to 8 by 8, or 32 pairs. No clock runs and nothing can make you lose; the pressure comes from the score, which pays 20 points per pair, takes 1 away for each wrong guess and adds 100 when a board is cleared. The second board already mixes lookalikes such as Lithuania and Ethiopia, or Senegal and Italy.

How to play Flag Memory Match

Objective

Clear each board by matching every pair of flags, keep wrong guesses low to protect your score, and work through all six levels counted in the header.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click a face-down card: turn it over to see its flag, with the country name shown in the top bar
  • Click a second card: a matching flag locks both with a green frame, a different one makes both flip back

Mobile

  • Tap a card: flip it and show the country name in the top bar
  • Tap a second card: keep a matching pair face up or watch a wrong pair turn back down

Getting started

  1. The game opens straight on Level 1/6, a grid of 16 face-down cards with the score at 0 in the top-right corner of the bar.
  2. Click any card to turn it over, then read the country name that replaces the title in the middle of the top bar.
  3. Click a second card. A matching flag locks both cards with a green frame and adds 20 points to the score.
  4. If the flags differ, both cards turn back after about a second and one point comes off, so note where each flag sat.
  5. Clear all eight pairs to collect the 100-point board bonus; level 2 then begins at once with a 6 by 6 grid.

Tips

  • Open a new board by turning cards in a fixed order, row by row, so you can picture where each flag landed before you start pairing them.
  • A miss costs one point while a pair pays 20, so turning unseen cards early is cheap; the real loss is forgetting a flag you already uncovered.
  • On the 6 by 6 and 8 by 8 boards, check the country name in the top bar to tell close designs apart, such as Lithuania and Ethiopia.
  • Reloading the page deals a fresh grid and drops you back to level 1 with a score of 0, so finish a run in one sitting.

Flag Memory Match FAQ

How many cards are on each Flag Memory Match level?

The first board has 16 cards, level 2 has 36 and level 3 has 64, laid out as 4 by 4, 6 by 6 and 8 by 8 grids. The header counts six levels in total, and every card hides one half of a flag pair.

Do wrong guesses cost points in Flag Memory Match?

Yes, but only one point each. A matched pair adds 20 points and clearing a whole board adds a 100-point bonus, while a wrong pair takes 1 point away. The score stayed at zero when misses came before the first match, and no timer runs.

Can you play Flag Memory Match on a phone?

Yes. The grid fits an upright phone screen and you tap cards instead of clicking them. Tapping two matching flags locks them with a green frame and adds 20 points, exactly as with a mouse on a computer.

Does Flag Memory Match tell you which country a flag belongs to?

It does. Each time you turn a card over, the middle of the top bar shows a small flag with the country's name, such as Uruguay, Norway or New Zealand, so you pick up names while you hunt for pairs.
