About 4 Colors PGS

4 Colors PGS is a shedding card game played against up to three computer opponents. The welcome screen sums up the rule: match cards by color or number and be the first to get rid of them. On your turn you play a card from your hand that shares either the color or the number of the card showing on the center pile. When nothing in your hand fits, you have to take a card from the draw pile instead, which pushes you further from an empty hand.

One rule catches newcomers out. When you are down to a single card, you must press the 1 button; forget it and you pick up two penalty cards. Special cards add another layer, and holding a good spread of colors keeps your options open. The computer opponents come in varying difficulty levels, and a finished game ends with a points total you can try to beat next time.

How to play 4 Colors PGS

Objective

Be the first player to empty your hand by matching the top card's color or number, and remember to press the 1 button when only one card remains.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click a card: play it if it matches the top card's color or number
  • Click the 1 button: declare that you are down to your last card

Mobile

  • Tap a card: play it if it matches the top card's color or number
  • Tap the 1 button: declare that you are down to your last card

Getting started

  1. Turn your phone sideways, since 4 Colors PGS is laid out in landscape.
  2. Read the opening message, which states the whole goal: match cards by color or number and get rid of them first.
  3. On your turn, click or tap a card in your hand that shares a color or number with the card on top of the center pile.
  4. If no card fits, take one from the draw pile; it joins your hand and play moves on.
  5. When your hand is down to one card, press the 1 button right away, or you will have to pick up two penalty cards.

Tips

  • Keep a spread of colors in your hand where possible, since a varied hand means fewer turns stuck taking cards from the draw pile.
  • Watch how many cards each rival holds; when one gets close to going out, a special card is your chance to slow them down.
  • Make the 1 button part of the move that leaves you with one card, because forgetting it costs two penalty cards and undoes your progress.
  • Save special cards for the moment they matter most instead of dropping them as soon as they reach your hand.

4 Colors PGS FAQ

What happens if you forget the 1 button in 4 Colors PGS?

You are penalized with two extra cards. The rule is that you must press the 1 button as soon as you have just one card left, so make it part of the move that brings your hand down to one.

How many opponents can you face?

Up to three, all controlled by the computer. The opponents come in varying difficulty levels, so more rivals or tougher ones make it harder to be the first to empty your hand.

Can 4 Colors PGS be played on a phone?

Yes. On a phone you tap cards, and on a computer you click them with the mouse. The game uses a landscape layout, so turn the phone sideways before you start a round.

What if none of your cards match the pile?

Then you draw. You must take one card from the draw pile, which adds to your hand, so it helps to keep a range of colors and numbers to avoid being stuck.
