About Desert Gunship
Desert Gunship is a helicopter combat game set over a hostile desert airbase. You fly an attack chopper low between the hangars, pick from four weapons that run from a rapid-fire gun up to guided missiles, and try to clear the camp before its defenses bring you down. The campaign has seven operations, each built around a different job: wiping out a camp, raiding a supply depot, pulling survivors out under fire, holding a line, delivering a bomb to its target or winning air superiority against enemy gunships.
The Tournament is the harder test. Twelve countries, seeded by strength, compete over three battlefields at a choice of three difficulty levels, and losing even once knocks you out for good. Every sortie pays coins and XP into the hangar, where heavier armour, stronger guns and extra speed can be bought. Those upgrades stay with you for the entire campaign, so a mission that beat you can be retried in a better machine.

How to play Desert Gunship
Objective
Complete each operation's objective, whether that means killing, rescuing, destroying, surviving or reaching a zone, and win the knockout Tournament, where one loss sends you out for good.

- W and S: fly forward and back
- A and D, or Q and E: turn left and right
- Space and C: climb and descend
- Left mouse button: fire
- Mouse: aim the camera
- 1 to 3: select a weapon
- X: cycle through weapons
- N and M, or the mouse wheel: next and previous target
- V: switch between the chase camera and the look-around camera
- F: pick up or drop a bomb
- L: release the mouse cursor
- H: show or hide the control tips
Getting started
- Pick an operation from the campaign and lift off; W and S fly forward and back while A and D turn the helicopter.
- Climb with Space and sink with C so you can stay low between the hangars of the airbase.
- Choose a weapon with the 1 to 3 keys or cycle with X, then aim with the mouse and fire with the left button.
- Use N and M or the mouse wheel to jump between targets, and complete the operation's objective, such as a rescue or a reach-zone run.
- Spend the coins and XP from each sortie in the hangar on armour, guns or speed before trying again.
- Once the helicopter is upgraded, enter the Tournament and choose a battlefield and a difficulty level.
Tips
- Upgrades carry across the whole campaign, so even a failed operation moves you forward: bank the coins and XP, buy armour or guns, and go back to the mission that beat you.
- In the Tournament a single loss ends the run, so build up the helicopter in campaign operations first instead of entering it with a stock machine.
- On the bomb-run operation, press F to pick the bomb up and press it again to drop it once you are over the target.
- Switch targets with N, M or the mouse wheel to keep track of which enemy you are engaging when several gunships are in the air at once.

How does the Tournament work in Desert Gunship?
Twelve countries are seeded by strength, and you fight through three battlefields at one of three difficulty levels. It is a knockout format with permanent elimination: one loss ends the run, so upgrading your helicopter in the campaign beforehand makes a real difference.
What weapons does the helicopter carry?
Four weapons, with a rapid-fire gun at the light end and guided missiles at the heavy end. Select one directly with the 1 to 3 keys or cycle through them with X, aim with the mouse and fire with the left mouse button.
Can you change the camera in Desert Gunship?
Yes. Press V to switch between the chase camera and the free-look camera, and move the mouse to aim the view. If you need the pointer outside the game, L releases the mouse cursor, and H shows or hides the control tips.
