About Robotex

Robotex is a puzzle game for children about building robots. Every round shows a blueprint and a set of robot parts, and you drag each piece onto the right place until the model is complete. A new robot model arrives with each round, so there is always another design to work out, and each part adds something of its own to the finished machine.

Robots come in different complexity levels, which lets players of different ages find a comfortable starting point and then move up. Accuracy is rewarded: the more precisely you assemble a robot, the higher your score. Progress is measured by the robots you finish and the complexity levels you reach. The game mixes play with learning how robots fit together, and it uses a wide landscape screen on computers and phones.

How to play Robotex

Objective

Assemble each robot by dragging its parts onto the blueprint as accurately as you can, earning higher scores and reaching more complex models.

Controls

Desktop

  • Drag and drop: move each robot part onto its place on the blueprint

Mobile

  • Drag and drop: move each robot part onto its place on the blueprint

Getting started

  1. Hold a phone sideways or use a computer, since the building screen is set out in landscape.
  2. Study the blueprint for the first robot so you know the shape you are building.
  3. Drag and drop each robot part onto its spot on the blueprint, one piece at a time.
  4. Finish the model to complete the round, then take on the following robot, which may be more complex.

Tips

  • Accuracy raises your score, so line each part up carefully on the blueprint instead of dropping it roughly near the right place.
  • Before placing a part, think about what job it does in the finished robot; knowing its purpose makes the complex models much easier later.
  • Careful assembly is what the score rewards, so take your time on each level rather than racing to see the following robot.
  • Younger players can stay on simpler complexity levels until the blueprints feel easy, then step up a level.
