About Slide And Divide
Slide And Divide is a small logic puzzle built on one bit of arithmetic. You are given numbers to put on the board, and the place that matters is right next to a value the number can divide. A number can go above a tile, below it or to either side of it, which is where the game's little rhyme about placing it up, down or on the side comes from.
When the placement makes a valid division, the tile reacts. Depending on the result it either disappears completely or is reduced, so the board can shrink or the values on it can change. That clearing is the only thing keeping you alive, because the board has limited room and the run ends the moment there is nowhere left to put a number. Every placement is a small bet on the next few turns. Good runs come from positioning numbers so that more divisions stay possible later.

Objective
Keep the board from filling up by placing numbers next to values they divide, clearing or shrinking tiles so a legal placement always remains.
Getting started
- Look at the number you have to place and at the values already sitting on the board.
- Find a value on the board that your number can divide evenly, since that is where a placement pays off.
- Put the number above, below or to one side of that value to trigger the division.
- See whether the tile disappeared or was reduced, and note any new value it now shows.
- Repeat, always keeping an eye on how much open space is left, because the run ends when no placement fits.
Tips
- A reduced tile stays on the board with its new value, so check which numbers could divide it next before you place again.
- Divisions are the only way to clear space, so a placement that triggers one is almost always better than one that does not.
- Leave room on several sides of large values, since a number can be placed above, below or beside a tile.
- Think one placement ahead: the run ends only when nothing fits, so keeping a few open spots matters more than clearing quickly.
