About Catch the Bear
Catch the Bear is a color-matching block puzzle with a storybook, honey-and-wood look. A queue of bear blocks in shapes like L and I waits beside an 8x8 dirt grid, and each piece has to be slid into place so its bears land in holes of their own color, red with red and purple with purple. The number printed on a block shows how many bears of that color still need a home.
The first levels are open, but from around level 5 the grid tightens and obstacles move in: honey barrels block routes, baskets are tied to particular colors and hornets buzz about. A countdown starting near 04:57 adds pressure, and clearing quickly pays bonus gold, while running out costs coins to restart. Level 8 unlocks the Freeze booster, with Levels 12 and 16 adding further tools.

How to play Catch the Bear
Objective
Place every bear block on the grid so each bear sits in the hole of its own color, finishing before the countdown reaches zero for the best rewards.

- Click and drag: move a bear block from the queue onto the grid

- Tap and slide: pick up a bear block and slide it onto the grid
Getting started
- Look at the queue of bear blocks and the 8x8 grid, and find the colored holes each bear needs to reach.
- Read the number on each block; it tells you how many bears of that color are still waiting to be placed.
- Click and drag a block onto the grid on a computer, or tap and slide it on a phone, so its bears line up with matching holes.
- Plan around honey barrels, baskets and hornets once they appear, since barrels block the path and baskets are tied to specific colors.
- Clear the grid before the timer, which starts near 04:57, runs out; finishing fast earns bonus gold for later.
Tips
- Hold the Freeze booster, unlocked at Level 8 with two charges, for later levels with basket mechanics, since it pauses the timer while you plan.
- Place the awkward L-shaped blocks while the grid still has open room, because later levels shrink the open space and odd shapes get harder to fit.
- Watch the block numbers as you go; a color with several bears left needs several matching holes kept open.
- Speed pays twice: beating the clock earns bonus gold, and gold is what you spend if the timer runs out and you need a restart.

What do the numbers on the bear blocks mean?
They show the number of bears in that color still waiting for a spot on the grid. A block marked 3 has three bears waiting, so keep enough matching holes clear for all of them before committing.
When do power-ups unlock in Catch the Bear?
The first booster, Freeze, arrives at Level 8 with two charges and pauses the timer so you can think through a tricky placement. More tools unlock at Levels 12 and 16, and your boosters and gold carry over between sessions.
What happens if the timer runs out?
The countdown starts at around 04:57. If it reaches zero, you can pay gold coins for a restart or start the level over from the beginning. Finishing quickly does the opposite and earns bonus gold.
Does Catch the Bear work on phones and computers?
Yes. It was designed with phones in mind, using tap and slide, and it also runs on desktop, where you click and drag blocks from the queue. The game adjusts to your screen size automatically.
