About Number Merge 10
Number Merge 10 is a number puzzle with one central rule. The board is a grid filled with numbers, and you mark out a rectangle over part of it. Add up every number inside that rectangle: if the total is exactly 10, the whole selection is eliminated. Only that exact total clears a selection, so a box that comes to 9 or 11 does nothing for you.
The challenge is in spotting where those totals hide. A rectangle can be a pair of neighbouring numbers, a longer strip along a row or column, or a block covering several rows, as long as it keeps a rectangular shape. Every number inside it counts toward the sum, so a box that hits 10 has to include just the right values and nothing extra. Clearing one area changes what is left on the board, so the order of your selections matters too.

How to play Number Merge 10
Objective
Find rectangular groups of numbers on the board that add up to exactly 10 and select them so the numbers inside are eliminated.
Getting started
- Scan the board for two neighbouring numbers that make 10 together, such as a 3 beside a 7, the simplest rectangle there is.
- Mark a rectangle over that pair; because its total is exactly 10, both numbers are eliminated.
- Look along rows and columns for longer strips, like 2, 3 and 5 in a line, that also reach 10.
- Try larger blocks across two or more rows, adding every number inside before you commit to the selection.
- Keep going, checking the remaining numbers for any rectangle that still adds up to exactly 10.
Tips
- Memorise the pairs that make 10, from 1 and 9 to 5 and 5; spotting them instantly makes the two-cell rectangles easy to find.
- A rectangle must include every number inside it, so one stray high number in the middle can push a promising box past 10.
- When a pair falls short, extend the rectangle by one row or column and add the new numbers before giving up on that spot.
- Large numbers like 8 or 9 can only reach 10 with very small neighbours, so check what sits right next to them first.
