About SUM+SUM
SUM+SUM hands you a grid of numbers with a target sum attached to every row and every column. The board holds more numbers than the targets allow, and your job is to remove the extras. Once the puzzle is solved, whatever stays in each row and each column totals exactly the value shown for that line.
Each decision affects two lines at once, since every number belongs to both a row and a column. Deleting one to fix a row total can break the column it sits in, so the puzzle is about balance rather than quick arithmetic. Marking works through repeated clicks on a number: one click keeps it, a second click deletes it and a third resets it. That lets you lock in the certainties first and return to the doubtful cells once the surrounding totals make them clear.

How to play SUM+SUM
Objective
Remove the unneeded numbers so that the numbers left in every row and every column add up exactly to their target sums.
Controls
Desktop
- 1 click: mark a number to keep
- 2 clicks: delete a number
- 3 clicks: reset a number to its original state
Getting started
- Read the target sums for each row and column before changing any number on the grid.
- Look for a row or column where only one combination of numbers can reach the target, and start there.
- Click a number once to mark it as kept, or click it twice to delete it from the grid.
- Check how each deletion affects the crossing row or column, then keep balancing until every total matches.
- If a mark turns out to be wrong, click a third time to reset that number and think again.
Tips
- Mark sure numbers with a single click as soon as you find them, because kept numbers narrow the remaining choices in both their row and column.
- A number bigger than its row or column target can never be part of the answer, so delete it straight away.
- Use the third-click reset freely; it returns a number to its neutral state, so trying out a deletion on a doubtful cell costs nothing.

SUM+SUM FAQ
How do clicks work in SUM+SUM?
Each click cycles a number's state. One click marks it to keep, two clicks delete it, and three clicks reset it. That lets you record certainties, remove extras and take back a guess on any cell.
When is a SUM+SUM puzzle solved?
When the numbers left in every row and every column add up exactly to the target sum shown for that line. Both directions have to match at the same time, which is what makes each removal a balancing act.
Why is SUM+SUM harder than plain addition?
Every number belongs to a row and a column, so deleting it changes two totals at once. A move that fixes one line can break another, and the logic lies in finding the one set of numbers that satisfies them all.
