About Game Mania
Game Mania takes place at 3 AM in a lakeside cabin. The power is out, the Wi-Fi is down and sleep will not come, so ideas get scribbled into a spiral notebook, and every scribble turns into a tiny game that lasts about five seconds. One moment you are plugging in a router cable that will not stop thrashing, the next you are swatting mosquitoes, stomping bugs or tuning a TV antenna through the static.
The night gets harder as it goes. Micro-games come faster and more demanding, and a boss waits along the way, all while you carry just three hearts. Holding on until the morning sun rises is the win. Each game tells you what to do the moment it appears, and the actions fall into a few kinds: mashing as fast as you can, a single well-timed click or tap, or dragging to slice, pull and release. Everything is drawn in ballpoint pen on notebook paper.

How to play Game Mania
Objective
Last through the whole night of escalating micro-games and the boss without losing all three hearts, until the morning sun comes up.
Controls
Desktop
- Click rapidly: mash in games that ask for speed
- Single timed click: hit the right moment in timing games
- Drag and let go: slice, pull and release where a game asks for it
Mobile
- Tap rapidly: mash in games that ask for speed
- Single timed tap: hit the right moment in timing games
- Drag and let go: slice, pull and release where a game asks for it
Getting started
- Start the night at the cabin and note your three hearts, which have to last until morning.
- When a micro-game appears, look at its short instruction straight away, since each one only lasts about five seconds.
- Work out which kind it is: mash as fast as possible, make one timed click or tap, or drag and release.
- Win or lose, move straight into the next scribble, expecting each one to be a little harder.
- Save your concentration for the boss, then keep going until the morning sun rises.
Tips
- Five seconds is very short, so decide the action type, whether mash, timed or drag, before your hand moves.
- For timed micro-games one accurate input beats several hurried ones, since a mistimed click or tap usually costs the round.
- With only three hearts for the whole night, treat the early easy games as practice for the faster ones later.

Game Mania FAQ
How long does each micro-game in Game Mania last?
Each one is a frantic doodle game of roughly five seconds. They come one after another through the night and get harder as it goes on, so there is little time to think between them.
How many lives do you get?
You have three hearts. They need to carry you through the escalating micro-games and the boss, and the run is won when the morning sun rises at the cabin.
Does it work with both a mouse and touch?
Yes, both. Mashing means rapid clicks or taps, timing games want one well-placed click or tap, and slice or pull games ask you to drag and let go.
