About Kobadoo Arithmetic

Kobadoo Arithmetic mixes memory with mental math. A card reading “Add up all these numbers” opens the round, and then numbers between -99 and 99 appear one at a time in the center of the screen, each for two to three seconds. When the last one fades, the heading “Select the summation result” appears above thirty candidate totals in ascending order, and a single click decides the level.

There is nothing to put in order here: only the final sum counts, but every candidate sits close to it, so a rough estimate will not do. Negative numbers can turn up from the first level. The count rises from two numbers to three at level 4, four at level 7, five at level 10, six at level 13 and seven at level 16, with 31 levels in all. By level 15 the totals can pass 200, and every cleared level adds 120 points to the score.

How to play Kobadoo Arithmetic

Objective

Keep a running total of every number shown and click the exact sum to clear each level; one wrong answer ends the run, and there are 31 levels to finish.

Controls

Desktop

  • Mouse click on a total: submit it as your answer for the level
  • Continue level button: on the Game Over card, replays the previous level starting from that level's score

Mobile

  • Tap a total: submit it; held upright, the answer board shows five totals per row

Getting started

  1. Numbers start appearing right after loading, so begin adding from the very first one in the middle of the screen.
  2. Level 1 shows just two numbers, such as 75 and 89; work out the sum while the second one is still visible.
  3. On the “Select the summation result” screen, find your total among the sorted candidates and click it once.
  4. Watch for minus signs, which can appear from the first level, and subtract those numbers: -39 and 86 make 47.
  5. After a miss, the Game Over card offers Restart Game and, on later levels, Continue level to retry the stage before.

Tips

  • Update one running total as each number appears instead of trying to remember the whole list; the numbers are never shown again and only the sum matters.
  • The thirty candidates are packed tightly around the answer, for example -106 to -58 when the sum is -90, so finish the exact sum before you start scanning.
  • Because the board is sorted, a negative total sits near the start and a large positive one near the end, which saves time when the answer is extreme.
  • Each number stays up a little longer from level 10, about three seconds instead of two and a half, which helps with the five- and six-number sums.
  • Continue level puts you back one stage with the score you had there, so use it rather than Restart Game once you are past level 4.

Kobadoo Arithmetic FAQ

Does Kobadoo Arithmetic use negative numbers?

Yes. Numbers range from -99 to 99 right from level 1, so many sums involve subtraction, and the totals themselves can be negative, such as -101 or -166. Read the minus sign before adding each number to your running total.

How many numbers do you add in each level?

Two for levels 1 to 3, then one more every three levels: three at level 4, four at level 7, five at level 10, six at level 13 and seven at level 16. The game runs to 31 levels.

Is Kobadoo Arithmetic suitable for young children?

It suits children who already add two-digit numbers confidently. Level 1 can mean adding 75 and 89 in your head, or -15 and -45, so players still learning single-digit sums will likely find it too hard.

Can you play Kobadoo Arithmetic on a phone?

Yes, it works upright on a phone. The answer board wraps to five totals per row, and one tap on the right total clears the level. No typing is needed, since you only choose from the listed answers.
