About Super Chains
Super Chains is a number puzzle played with blocks that each carry a value. A chain grows one block at a time: from the block you are on, you may move to any adjoining block whose number is one higher, one lower or exactly the same. A run like 3, 4, 4, 5, 4 is perfectly legal, so the skill lies in spotting long routes that wander up and down through the blocks.
Length is what counts. Powerful mythical creatures are hidden in the puzzle, and building long links of blocks is how you capture them and put them to use. Heroes can also be recruited to help with the task, all in the name of becoming the epic champion the game keeps teasing. The layout is portrait, and it runs on phones and desktop browsers alike.

Tips
- Groups of identical numbers are easy length: a cluster of the same value lets a chain grow several steps before it needs a higher or lower neighbour.
- A block whose neighbours all differ from it by two or more is a dead end, so plan the route around it rather than walking into it.
- Zigzag between two values instead of climbing steadily; a chain that only rises soon runs out of higher numbers, while one that alternates can keep going.

Which blocks can be linked in Super Chains?
Only adjoining ones whose number is one higher, one lower or the same as the block you are on. A 6 can connect to a neighbouring 5, 6 or 7, but never to a 4 or an 8.
Why build long chains?
Long links are how you capture the mythical creatures hidden in the puzzle and put them to work. Before you start touching blocks, it pays to look for the longest route the numbers allow.
