About Merge Royal

Merge Royal sets four columns of number cards on a neon-lit table, each card a power of two with a suit. Drag a card onto a card of the same value in another column and the pair fuses into one card worth double, so two 16s make a 32 and two 512s make 1K. Every merge adds points toward the level bar at the top. New cards keep arriving at the top of all four columns, so the stacks keep lengthening.

The solitaire side comes from stacking. You may grab a card that sits under others and carry up to five cards at once; if the grabbed card matches the target, it still merges and the rest ride along. Any drop that does not merge, even into an empty column, uses up one of ten allowed mistakes, and the bars over the columns turn yellow, then red, as a stack nears the dashed line at the bottom. Filling the level bar shows LEVEL UP!, refills the mistakes and added a second bomb booster, while the cards stay in place.

How to play Merge Royal

Objective

Merge equal cards to fill the level bar at the top and level up, spending as few of your ten allowed mistakes as possible and keeping the columns short.

Controls

Desktop

  • Drag a card with the mouse onto a card of the same value: merge them into one card of double value
  • Drag a card that has others resting on it: move up to five cards at once; a match under the grabbed card still merges
  • Pause button (top right): open the panel with Resume, sound and home buttons
  • Info button (top left): show the HOW TO PLAY pages again

Mobile

  • Drag a card onto a matching value in another column: merge the two into a card of double value
  • Pause button (top right): open the panel with Resume, sound and home buttons

Getting started

  1. Read the two HOW TO PLAY cards, pressing NEXT and then OK; they introduce the mistakes counter and the five-card drag limit.
  2. Follow the pointing hand on the first board and drag the 16 on the right onto the other 16 to make a 32.
  3. Keep merging upward, for example the new 32 onto the 32 beside it, and watch the score under the level bar jump.
  4. Check MISTAKES LEFT in the bottom-left corner; any drop that does not merge takes one away from the 10 you start with.
  5. Keep combining until the bar from 0 to 1 at the top fills and the LEVEL UP! panel appears.

Tips

  • Look under the front cards: grabbing a buried 32 together with the cards on it and dropping it on another 32 merges them without spending a mistake.
  • Moving a card into an empty column still costs a mistake, so only use empty space when it sets up a merge on the very next move.
  • Watch the colored bars above the columns; a red bar means that stack is close to the dashed line, so take merges from it first.
  • Big pairs pay most: each merge scores twice the new card's value, so two 64s give 256 points while two 2s give only 8.
  • Leveling up resets MISTAKES LEFT to 10, so when the counter turns red, aim for the merge that finishes the level bar.

Merge Royal FAQ

What counts as a mistake in Merge Royal?

Any drop that does not produce a merge. Placing an 8 on a 64, a 2 on a 4 or a card into an empty column each took one away from MISTAKES LEFT. Successful merges cost nothing, and the counter turns red when only two remain.

Can you move more than one card at a time in Merge Royal?

Yes. The DRAGGABLE AT A TIME counter shows 5, so you can pick up a card with up to four cards resting on it. If the card you grabbed matches the target, it merges and the cards above it travel along.

What happens when you level up in Merge Royal?

A LEVEL UP! panel appears, the bar at the top moves on to level 2 and the score display starts again from 0. MISTAKES LEFT returns to 10 and the bomb booster count went from 1 to 2, but the cards on the board stay put.

Does Merge Royal work on a phone?

It does, and the layout is built for an upright screen. You drag cards with touch the same way as with a mouse, and the pause button in the top right opens a panel with Resume, sound and home buttons.
