About Word Associations Solitaire
Word Associations Solitaire borrows the layout of a solitaire game and swaps suits and numbers for meaning. Cards carrying images and themes are dealt onto the board, and instead of building runs you sort them by association. Animal cards belong together, food cards belong together, and so on through each theme on the board. Each card has to end up in the category it shares with others, and a level is complete only when every card has been cleared from the board.
There are hundreds of levels, and their themes range across food, animals, objects, professions and more. The early ones are straightforward, and the difficulty climbs as you go, with trickier links between cards. There is no clock, so you can think over each move as long as you like. When you reach a point where no moves are left, hints and special cards help you get going again, and boosters handle tricky spots. Clearing levels unlocks new themes to play through.

How to play Word Associations Solitaire
Objective
Group every card on the board by its shared association and move each group into the matching category until no cards remain.
Getting started
- Look over the cards on the board and note the images and themes printed on each one.
- Find two or more cards that clearly share a theme, such as several animals or several foods.
- Move those cards into the matching category to start clearing the board.
- Keep sorting by association, checking each new card against the categories already in play.
- If no moves are left, use a hint or a special card, and clear all cards to finish the level.
Tips
- With no time limit, survey the whole board before your first move so no card goes into the wrong category.
- Some cards could fit more than one theme, so place the obvious ones first and leave the ambiguous cards for later.
- Hints and special cards are meant for when no moves are left, so hold them until you are truly stuck.
- Later levels get harder, so use the early ones to learn how broad themes like objects or professions tend to be.
