About Color Pixels - Coloring by Numbers

Color Pixels - Coloring by Numbers turns black-and-white pictures into finished color art one numbered area at a time. You start in the gallery, pick a category and then a picture, and the image appears with every region marked by a number. Choosing a shade from the palette along the bottom and then filling the matching numbered areas gradually brings the picture to life.

Precision is handled by zoom. A zoom slider along the top, a pinch on a phone or tablet, or the mouse wheel on a computer lets you move in close on fine details or pull back to see the whole image. Boosters work as special tools that speed up the coloring when you want to finish faster. The game is built for unwinding, with the numbers doing the planning so you can concentrate on filling in color.

How to play Color Pixels - Coloring by Numbers

Objective

Color every numbered area of a black-and-white picture with its matching palette color until the image is complete, then choose another from the gallery.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click a numbered area: color it
  • Mouse wheel: zoom in or out
  • Slider at the top: zoom in or out
  • Palette at the bottom: pick a color

Mobile

  • Tap a numbered area: color it
  • Pinch: zoom in or out
  • Slider at the top: zoom in or out
  • Palette at the bottom: pick a color

Getting started

  1. Open the gallery, choose a category that appeals to you, and then select a picture to start coloring.
  2. Pick a color from the palette along the bottom; its number matches areas in the picture.
  3. Click or tap each area marked with that number to fill it in with the chosen color.
  4. Zoom in with the slider at the top, a pinch or the mouse wheel to reach small numbered areas.
  5. Use a booster when you want to speed up the coloring, and continue until no numbered areas remain.

Tips

  • Finish one palette color across the whole picture before switching, so you are not hunting for scattered numbers later on.
  • Zoom in before filling tiny regions; the zoom slider up top is an alternative to pinching or the wheel.
  • Zoom back out now and then to spot numbered areas you skipped, since the picture is only done when every area is colored.
  • Keep boosters for large or crowded pictures, where speeding up the coloring saves the most effort.
