About Word Chef

Word Chef serves up a scramble of letters and asks you to find every word hidden inside it. You connect letters in sequence by dragging across them, and each valid word you spell is accepted, logged on your list and counted toward your score. A level is complete once all of its required words have been found.

There is plenty to work through. The game offers six difficulty settings running from Beginner up to Expert, and more than 500 levels in total, so there is a long ladder to climb. As the difficulty rises, the hidden words become harder or longer, which turns a quick warm-up at Beginner into a proper vocabulary workout by Expert. The input idea is the same on any device: hold the left mouse button and drag on a computer, or swipe across the letters on a phone.

How to play Word Chef

Objective

Find every valid word hidden in each letter scramble to finish the level, and work your way through the difficulties from Beginner to Expert.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click and drag with the left mouse button: connect letters in sequence to form a word

Mobile

  • Swipe across letters: connect them in sequence to form a word

Getting started

  1. Choose a difficulty; Beginner is the gentlest of the six settings and a good place to learn how the scramble works.
  2. Look over the letters in the scramble and spot a short word you can make from them.
  3. Drag or swipe across those letters in order to spell the word, then let go.
  4. Watch it join your list and score if it is valid; if it is not accepted, try another combination.
  5. Keep finding words until every one the level hides has been found, then continue to the following one.

Tips

  • Start with short, obvious words; each valid one is added to your list, and seeing what is already found narrows down what remains.
  • Higher difficulties hide harder or longer words, so step up when Beginner levels start to feel quick rather than jumping straight to Expert.
  • Long words tend to be the last ones left at higher difficulties, so once the short words are found, look for ways to chain most of the letters together.
