About Simple Words
Simple Words takes the falling blocks of a match-3 puzzle and turns them into a spelling game. Letters fill the board, and you build a word by selecting them. Each letter you use goes dark, and a row only clears once every letter in it has been used, with the falling-block mechanic keeping the board on the move. The rules fit in a sentence, but deciding which word to spell next is where the strategy sits.
Four modes change the pressure. Daily Challenge asks whether you can reach the top, Round Mode lets you play as many rounds as you like at your own speed, Moves Mode measures how far you get with only a few moves, and VS AI sets you against a clever computer opponent. Taken together they cover calm solo sessions, a daily target and a head-to-head contest, all built on the same letter-clearing rules and a relaxed overall pace.

How to play Simple Words
Objective
Spell words from the letters on the board, using every letter in a row so that it clears, and make the most of whichever mode you choose.
Controls
Desktop
- Click a letter: add it to the word you are building
Mobile
- Tap a letter: add it to the word you are building
Getting started
- Pick a mode first: Daily Challenge, Round Mode, Moves Mode or VS AI, each built on the same letter rules.
- Scan the rows for a word you can spell, then tap or click its letters to form it.
- Watch the letters you used turn dark, which shows at a glance what is left to use in each row.
- Finish off a row by spelling words that use up its remaining lit letters; once all are used, the row clears.
- In Moves Mode, count what you have left before each word, since the aim there is to go as far as possible with only a few.
Tips
- Favour words that draw on a row that is almost finished, since a row clears only when every one of its letters has gone dark.
- Awkward letters are the ones that leave rows stuck, so look for words that use them early rather than spending all the easy letters first.
- In Moves Mode, longer words that finish off rows stretch your limited moves further than short ones that leave lit letters behind.
- Use Round Mode to practise without pressure, since it lets you play as many rounds as you like, then bring that eye for words into VS AI.

Simple Words FAQ
What modes does Simple Words have?
There are four. VS AI pits you against a clever computer opponent, Moves Mode sees how far a handful of moves can carry you, Round Mode lets you play round after round at your own speed, and Daily Challenge sets a target where you aim to reach the top.
What happens to letters after you use them?
They go dark, which marks them as spent. A row clears only when every letter in it is dark, so the goal is to choose words that use up whole rows rather than leaving single letters stranded.
How do you pick letters on a computer or a phone?
Click letters on a computer, or tap them on a phone, to build a word. The same select-and-spell rule applies in every mode, from Daily Challenge to VS AI, so switching devices does not change how you play.
