About Drive & Crash Sandbox

Drive & Crash Sandbox is a crash simulator with no checklist. You choose a vehicle, point it down one of the massive slopes, build up speed and steer it into whatever destructible obstacle waits below. The damage model reacts to each impact, so parts break away and bodies crumple differently from one collision to the next, and no two wrecks look quite alike.

Since there are no strict objectives, how you spend a session is up to you. Swap to the next vehicle with a single key, repair the current one when it is too mangled to drive, or switch on slow motion to watch a collision in detail. Nitro adds extra speed for a harder hit, the handbrake lets you swing the car around, and the camera can be changed to frame the crash. A multiplayer mode is also included, and phones get on-screen controls for every action.

How to play Drive & Crash Sandbox

Objective

Wreck cars in whatever way you enjoy most: there is no score to beat, just slopes, obstacles and a damage system to experiment with.

Controls

Desktop

  • WASD: drive
  • Space: handbrake
  • Shift: nitro
  • N: next vehicle
  • C: change camera
  • R: repair the car
  • V: slow motion
  • Tab: pause

Mobile

  • On-screen controls: handle all actions on a phone

Getting started

  1. Choose a vehicle from the selection, then line it up at the top of a slope facing the obstacles below.
  2. Drive forward with WASD, or the on-screen controls on a phone, and let the slope build your speed on the way down.
  3. Press Shift for nitro just before the obstacles to make the impact as hard as possible.
  4. Press V right before the crash to see it in slow motion, and C to pick a better camera angle.
  5. Press R to repair the wreck and try again, or N to bring out the next vehicle.

Tips

  • Repairing with R lets you reuse the same car for another run, which is handy when you want to compare two crashes directly.
  • Turn on slow motion with V a moment before impact; switching it on afterward means the most interesting deformation is already over.
  • Use the handbrake on Space to swing the car sideways so it meets the obstacles with its flank instead of the nose.
  • Cycle through vehicles with N to find out which ones break apart most dramatically on the same slope.

Drive & Crash Sandbox FAQ

Is there an objective in Drive & Crash Sandbox?

Not a strict one. The game leaves the wrecking entirely up to you, so you set your own targets, such as a faster run down a slope or a more spectacular collision.

Can you repair a wrecked car?

Yes. Press R to repair the car you are driving, which saves you from swapping vehicles every time a crash leaves it badly damaged. N moves on to the next vehicle if you want a change.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. On mobile devices the game shows on-screen controls that cover all of its actions, while a computer uses WASD to drive and single keys for nitro, handbrake, repairs, cameras and slow motion.

Is there an online mode?

Yes, an online multiplayer mode is among its features, so the slopes and obstacles can be shared with other players instead of wrecking cars on your own every session.
