About Hungry Cars

Hungry Cars turns the usual driving rules upside down. Instead of avoiding the other vehicles on the road, you hunt them. Every car has a power level, and driving into one with a lower level than yours eats it, making your own car stronger. Driving into one that outpowers you does the opposite: you take damage instead of a meal.

That single rule creates a constant judgment call. While your car is weak, only the smallest targets are safe to hit. As your power climbs, more of the traffic becomes food, and the cars you were fleeing a moment ago turn into prey. Each run also moves you toward new customization options for your car, so even a short session leaves something unlocked. On a computer you move with the arrow keys in four directions, and on a phone an on-screen joystick lets you head any way you like.

How to play Hungry Cars

Objective

Eat cars with a lower power level than yours to grow stronger, stay away from more powerful cars that would damage you, and unlock customization as you play.

Controls

Desktop

  • Up Arrow: move upward
  • Down Arrow: move downward
  • Left Arrow: move left
  • Right Arrow: move right

Mobile

  • On-screen joystick: drag it to move in any direction

Getting started

  1. Start a run and check the power levels of the cars around you before going after any of them.
  2. Steer with the arrow keys, or drag the on-screen joystick on a phone, toward a car weaker than yours.
  3. Drive into that car to eat it and raise your own power level.
  4. Keep clear of cars with more power than you, since colliding with them damages your car.
  5. As you grow, hunt the bigger cars that are now weaker than you, and look at your new customization options afterward.

Tips

  • Always compare power levels before contact; hitting a stronger car damages you, so a wrong guess costs more than a missed meal.
  • Small, safe meals add up, so eat every weaker car within reach early instead of waiting for one big target.
  • Cars that outpowered you earlier become prey once your level passes theirs, so keep an eye on the ones you have been avoiding.
  • Each run moves you toward new customization, so even a short game that ends early still adds progress.

Hungry Cars FAQ

How do you get stronger in Hungry Cars?

Drive into cars with a lower power level than yours. Each one you eat makes your car stronger, which in turn lets you go after bigger targets that were too strong for you before.

What happens if you hit a stronger car?

You take damage. Cars with a higher power level than yours are dangerous to hit, so steer clear of them until your own power has grown past theirs.

How do you move in Hungry Cars on a phone?

Drag the on-screen joystick to move in any direction. On a computer, the four arrow keys move your car up, down, left and right instead.

What does each run unlock?

Runs count toward new customization options for your car. Getting stronger and playing more opens them up, so there is something new to apply to your car as you keep coming back.
