About Driftbound: Race in the Grip of Drift!
Driftbound: Race in the Grip of Drift! replaces braking for corners with a magnetic hook. Glowing magnets sit near the road at the turns; hold the hook control as you approach, the car latches on and swings around the bend, and letting go at the right moment sends it back down the road. Release at the wrong time and the car leaves the track, so every sharp turn is a test of timing.
The car accelerates by itself, which leaves you to steer, use the hook, avoid crashes and collect cash. Environments are procedurally generated, so bridges, intersections, changing weather and tricky turns appear in a new arrangement each run. Two modes split the goals: Solo is about distance, increasingly difficult levels and beating your record, while Rivals asks you to get past the AI drivers and beat them to the finish line. Cash buys car upgrades, new vehicles and new control modes.

How to play Driftbound: Race in the Grip of Drift!
Objective
Hook onto the magnet at each turn, swing through and release at the right moment to stay on the road, collecting cash for distance records in Solo or wins in Rivals.
Controls
Desktop
- Spacebar, or holding the mouse button: grab a magnet with the hook
- Let go of Spacebar or the mouse button: detach the hook
- A or Left Arrow: steer left
- D or Right Arrow: steer right
- Mouse drag: spin the on-screen wheel to steer
- Esc: pause
Mobile
- Touch and hold the screen: latch onto a magnet
- Lift your finger: let go of the hook
- Drag the on-screen wheel: steer
- Press and hold either half of the screen: steer in directional mode
Getting started
- Choose Solo for distance or Rivals to race AI drivers, and pick your steering style in Settings.
- Let the car accelerate on its own and steer with A and D, the arrows, or the on-screen wheel.
- As a turn approaches, hold Spacebar, the mouse button or the screen to hook onto the glowing magnet.
- Keep holding while the car swings around the corner, then release at the right moment to continue down the road.
- Collect cash along the way and spend it on car upgrades, new vehicles or new control modes.
Tips
- Grab the magnet as you reach the turn, not long before; the hook is what carries the car around the corner.
- Release timing decides where the car points when the swing ends, so let go as the nose lines up with the road ahead.
- Rivals rewards overtaking AI drivers while Solo rewards survival and distance, so adjust how much risk you take to the mode you are playing.
- If the on-screen wheel feels awkward on a phone, switch to directional mode in Settings and keep a finger on whichever half of the screen matches the turn.

Driftbound: Race in the Grip of Drift! FAQ
How does the magnetic hook work in Driftbound?
Approach a turn and hold Spacebar, the mouse button or the screen; the car latches onto the glowing magnet and swings around the bend. Let go when it faces the road again to continue on your way.
What is the difference between Solo and Rivals?
Solo is about distance: travel as far as possible, clear increasingly difficult levels and beat your record. Rivals is a race against AI drivers, where you need to get past them and reach the finish line ahead of the pack.
Do you need to accelerate in Driftbound?
No, the car accelerates automatically. Your job is steering, using the hook on turns, avoiding crashes and collecting cash, which you can spend on upgrades, new vehicles and extra control modes.
Can you play Driftbound on a phone?
Yes. Touch and hold the screen to use the hook and lift your finger to release it. Steer by dragging the on-screen wheel, or switch to directional mode and hold either side of the screen.
