About Monster Truck Offroad

Monster Truck Offroad puts you behind the wheel of a giant truck on mud, dirt and rock. A run is either a race to the line or a points hunt, and destruction counts toward your score: rolling over cars and smashing destructible objects earns points, and crushing several in quick succession builds combos. Momentum carries you up hills, ramps throw you into the air, and a bad landing can flip the truck.

Three modes pull the same driving in different directions. Circuit Race is about speed through checkpoints, Destruction Derby rewards wrecking the scenery, and Time Trial sets you against the clock. Six trucks unlock as you work through eight tracks, each truck rated for speed, suspension and crush power. Heavy rigs flatten more but climb slowly, while light ones scale steep slopes but cause less damage. Tracks also hide shortcuts, such as narrow dirt paths and alternative jumps.

How to play Monster Truck Offroad

Objective

Win Circuit Races and Time Trials by reaching the finish quickly, and pile up points in Destruction Derby by crushing cars and objects, while avoiding rollovers that reset your truck and your combo.

Controls

Desktop

  • Left and Right Arrows: steer
  • Up Arrow: accelerate
  • Down Arrow: brake or reverse
  • Spacebar: jump off ramps

Mobile

  • Tilt or on-screen steer buttons: steer the truck
  • Gas pedal: accelerate
  • Brake pedal: slow down or reverse
  • Jump button: launch off ramps

Getting started

  1. Compare the trucks' speed, suspension and crush ratings, and pick a light one for racing or a heavy one for wrecking.
  2. Choose a mode: Circuit Race for checkpoints and speed, Destruction Derby for points from smashing things, or Time Trial against the clock.
  3. Accelerate with the Up Arrow or the gas pedal, steering with the arrows on desktop or by tilting on a phone.
  4. Roll over cars and anything breakable to flatten them for points, and launch off ramps with the spacebar or the jump button.
  5. In the air, brake to dip the nose or accelerate to lift it, so all four tires land at the same time.

Tips

  • A rollover resets your position and ends your combo, so a flat four-wheel landing is worth more than a longer jump.
  • Let downhill stretches build speed and come off the brake before a ramp, because more speed means more distance in the air.
  • In Destruction Derby, aim for clusters of obstacles, since smashing several in quick succession multiplies the points.
  • Destruction Derby earns points fastest, and those points unlock trucks, so play it when you want the full set of six sooner.

Monster Truck Offroad FAQ

Does Monster Truck Offroad run on phones?

Yes. It runs on Android and iOS as well as desktop browsers. On a phone you steer by tilting the device or with on-screen steer buttons, use separate gas and brake pedals, and tap the jump button for ramps.

How do you avoid flipping the truck after a jump?

Adjust while airborne. Braking tips the nose down and accelerating lifts the front, so balance the two until all four tires land flat. Coming down nose-first flips the truck, and a rollover resets your position and your combo.

Which truck works best in each mode?

Light, fast trucks climb hills quicker and hold momentum through corners, which wins Circuit Races. Heavy trucks have more crush power and can flatten obstacles that smaller rigs bounce off, which matters most in Destruction Derby.

Are there shortcuts on the eight tracks?

Yes. The tracks hide alternative routes, such as narrow dirt paths between obstacles and jumps that carry you over whole sections. Finding them cuts time in a Time Trial or a Circuit Race.
