About Super Onion Boy
Super Onion Boy is an old-school platformer with a simple story: an evil monster has captured your girlfriend, and you set off to rescue her. Across 15 levels you run, jump and collect, with enemies standing between you and the monster. In the tradition of the old platformers it draws on, you defeat foes by landing on top of them.
Pickups do more than add points. Coins and life force come from collecting the right items along the way, and stars feed your score, so the more stars you grab, the higher you finish. At times a power becomes available, and X or J puts it to use. The layout is straightforward on a computer: A and D or the arrow keys to move, Z, K or Space to jump, and P to pause. With a high score to chase, the levels are built to be replayed.

Objective

Getting started
- Learn the movement first: A and D or the left and right arrow keys move Onion Boy across the level.
- Jump with Z, K or Space, and try landing on an enemy to defeat it.
- Pick up items along the way to gain coins and life force, and grab every star you can reach for a better score.
- When a power becomes available, use it with X or J to get through a tough section.
- Press P whenever you need a break, then work through the 15 levels toward the monster holding your girlfriend.
Tips
- Stars are what lift your score, so on a replay go back for the ones you skipped instead of rushing to the end of the level.
- Landing on enemies is how you defeat them, so time your jumps to come down on top of a foe rather than trying to slip past.
- Life force comes from collecting items rather than arriving on its own, so grab it whenever you see it to keep Onion Boy going.
