About Microplastics Feeding

Microplastics Feeding has an odd hero: a hungry fish whose favorite food is plastic. Your job is to help it swim through the ocean and eat every plastic item it can find. The whole game runs on a single input that changes the fish's direction, so steering comes down to choosing the right moment to switch, again and again, as new pieces drift into reach.

That one-button design makes it a game of collecting and avoiding at the same time. Plastic is what you want to swallow, while the obstacles in the water are what you need to swerve around, and both depend on when you flip the fish's course. On a computer, a click or the space bar changes direction; on a phone, a touch does the same. The ocean stretches out sideways in landscape. Behind the jokey premise sits a real problem, the plastic waste that ends up in the sea.

How to play Microplastics Feeding

Objective

Steer the hungry fish so it swallows every plastic item in the sea, changing direction at the right moments to collect pieces and avoid obstacles.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click or space bar: change the fish's direction

Mobile

  • Touch the screen: change the fish's direction

Getting started

  1. Turn the phone sideways or use a computer; the ocean scene is shown in landscape.
  2. Start the game and watch which way the fish is heading before you make your first input.
  3. Click, press the space bar or touch the screen to change the fish's direction toward a piece of plastic.
  4. Switch direction again before the fish reaches an obstacle, then line up the next plastic item.
  5. Keep alternating between collecting and avoiding until the fish has eaten all the plastic it can reach.

Tips

  • Since one input controls everything, plan each change of direction a moment early rather than reacting at the last instant.
  • If an obstacle sits right beside a piece of plastic, let that piece go and catch the next one safely instead of forcing a risky switch.
  • On a computer, the space bar lets you keep your eyes on the fish without aiming anywhere, a small edge when every switch counts.
