About Cube Trap
Cube Trap looks like the easiest platformer you could open. A room appears with a flat floor, no enemies and a green door just a few steps away. Then you start walking and the room turns on you: the floor drops away, a platform slips off at the exact moment you leave the ground, and the ceiling crashes down if you stand still.
Other rooms get stranger. Partway along a corridor your controls flip into mirror mode, gravity can turn over until the sky is underfoot, and the door itself may shuffle two paces sideways and slam before you arrive. None of it is random. Every trick fires identically on every attempt, so a room that kills you once can be beaten the next time. Dying costs nothing either: your little cube bursts into pieces and is back at the start half a second later. Losing is impossible, and the only real obstacle is working out what each room is hiding.

How to play Cube Trap
Objective
Reach the green door in every room. Each trap that catches you shows where the room will cheat, so you can plan around it on the following attempt.
Controls
Desktop
- WASD or arrow keys: move the cube
- Space: jump, holding it longer for a higher jump
- Hold a mouse button and drag: rotate the camera
- R: restart the level
- Esc: pause
Mobile
- Left half of the screen: touch to bring up a joystick, then drag your finger to steer
- Button on the right: jump, holding it for extra height
- Swipe on any empty part of the screen: rotate the camera
Getting started
- Find the green door as soon as a room appears, since stepping through it is the only goal and the room will try to keep you from it.
- Start walking with WASD or the arrow keys, or with the joystick that appears when you touch the left half of a phone screen.
- When a trap gets you, note exactly where you were standing and what you were doing, because it will fire the same way again.
- You are back at the start half a second after dying, and pressing R restarts the level whenever you want a clean attempt.
- Turn the camera with a mouse drag or a swipe to look ahead, then try a new route or a new timing past each trick.
Tips
- Keep moving whenever a ceiling hangs over you, because it comes down the moment you stand still; save your pauses for spots you already know are safe.
- If a corridor suddenly sends you the opposite way, mirror mode has switched on, so press the reverse direction to keep heading where you meant to go.
- Distrust every platform you jump toward, since some slide away the instant you take off; watch where one goes on your first try and adjust the next jump.
- Deaths cost nothing, so use early attempts to trigger traps on purpose and learn them, rather than creeping cautiously toward the door.
- Hold Space or the jump button only as long as a gap needs, because jump height depends on how long you keep it pressed.

Cube Trap FAQ
Can you actually lose in Cube Trap?
No. Dying is instant and carries no penalty: the cube bursts into pieces and is standing at the start again about half a second later. Nothing is taken away when you die, so the only thing holding you back is not yet understanding a room's traps.
Do the traps change between attempts?
They do not. Each trick in Cube Trap behaves identically on every attempt, whether it is a dropping floor, a sliding platform or a door that sidesteps. That consistency is the point: once you have seen a trap, you can plan a way past it.
How do you play Cube Trap on a phone?
Touch the left half of the screen to make a joystick appear and drag your finger to move. The button on the right jumps, with a longer hold giving a higher jump, and swiping on an empty part of the screen turns the camera.
What keys restart and pause Cube Trap?
Press R to restart the current level and Esc to pause. Movement uses WASD or the arrow keys, Space jumps, and holding a mouse button while dragging rotates the camera so you can look for the trick before it springs.
