About Lumbering At Sea

Lumbering At Sea mixes a runner with a lumberjack job. Your stickman dashes along glowing paths across tropical islands, axe in hand, and each tree on the route is a source of wood planks. Swing at the right moment and the planks go straight into your supply, with on-screen indicators and the distance to a tree telling you when a swing will land.

That wood has a purpose. At the end of a stretch you need enough lumber to build a raft that carries you across the water to the next island, so a run with too few chops can leave you stranded or in the sea. Coins collected along the way pay for upgrades between attempts: Speed, Cutting efficiency for more planks per chop, and Critical hits for stronger strikes. Longer runs mean higher scores.

How to play Lumbering At Sea

Objective

Run along the island paths chopping trees for lumber, gather enough to build a raft to the next island, and reach the end gate without falling off.

Controls

Desktop

  • Mouse: click, hold or click repeatedly to swing the axe near a tree or when an indicator appears

Mobile

  • Touchscreen tap: swing the axe when close to a tree or prompted by an indicator

Getting started

  1. Start running along the glowing path; your stickman lumberjack heads forward toward the trees on the island.
  2. When you get close to a tree or an indicator appears, click or tap to swing the axe.
  3. Keep chopping as you go, since every successful swing adds wood planks to your supply automatically.
  4. Reach the end of the stretch with enough lumber to build the raft that takes you to the next island.
  5. Between attempts, spend the coins you collected on Speed, Cutting efficiency or Critical hits upgrades.

Tips

  • Put early coins into Cutting efficiency, since more planks per chop means fewer swings are needed to gather enough lumber for the raft.
  • Use the on-screen indicators as your cue; swinging when one appears, or when you are right beside a tree, is what turns swings into planks.
  • Speed upgrades help you cover the path between trees and checkpoints faster, which matters on longer runs aimed at a high score.
  • Critical hits make each axe strike more powerful, which pairs well with Cutting efficiency when you want more wood from fewer swings.

Lumbering At Sea FAQ

How do you chop trees in Lumbering At Sea?

Click with the mouse, or hold or click repeatedly, when you are near a tree or an indicator appears. On a touchscreen, tap at those same moments. Wood planks are collected automatically after each chop.

What is the raft for?

The raft is how you cross the water to the next island. You build it from the lumber you chopped during the run, so falling short on wood can leave you unable to move on.

Which upgrades are available?

There are three: Speed for quicker running between trees and checkpoints, Cutting efficiency to harvest more planks per chop, and Critical hits for more powerful axe strikes. They are bought with coins between attempts.
