About Face Breaker

Face Breaker has a chunky pixel look: a tall column tiled in teal and blue squares, orange block lettering, and a big PRESS ANY KEY prompt above a YOUR SCORE counter. A click or a tap moves on to LEVEL SELECT, a grid three tiles wide and four deep where only the grey tile marked 1 is open at the start and the other eleven carry yellow padlocks. Orange arrows beside the heading point to further pages of levels, and music and speaker buttons sit along the bottom, with a QUIT button between them on phones.

Inside a level you steer a paddle to keep a quirky ball with a square face in play while it crushes the blocks. The game's description counts 45 levels in total, each harder than the last, and says the ball gains speed on every bounce. That makes the opening levels the place to learn the rebound angles before the pace climbs and the clock starts to matter.

How to play Face Breaker

Objective

Keep the square-faced ball in play with your paddle, crush every block in each level and unlock the padlocked levels one by one up to 45.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click the title screen: go to LEVEL SELECT
  • Tile 1 on the grid: start the first level
  • Orange arrows beside LEVEL SELECT: change the page of levels
  • Music-note and speaker buttons: switch music and sound

Mobile

  • Tap the title screen: open LEVEL SELECT
  • Tile 1 on the grid: start the first level
  • QUIT (bottom middle): leave the level grid

Getting started

  1. On the FACE BREAKER title, press a key or click the column; PRESS ANY KEY sits in the middle and YOUR SCORE starts at 0.
  2. LEVEL SELECT appears next: a three by four grid in which only the grey tile numbered 1 is open.
  3. Choose tile 1 to start; the yellow padlocks on the other eleven mark levels that are not unlocked yet.
  4. Use the orange arrows beside the heading to look through the further pages of levels.
  5. Set the music-note and speaker buttons along the bottom first if you prefer to play without sound.

Tips

  • Only level 1 is open at first, so use it to learn the angle and speed of the square-faced ball before the padlocked ones.
  • The ball gets faster with every bounce, so move the paddle into place early rather than chasing it at the last moment.
  • Each LEVEL SELECT page fits twelve tiles, so the 45 levels in the description spread over several pages reached with the orange arrows.
  • On a wide monitor the game is a narrow portrait column with decorative blocks on either side; a phone held upright shows it larger.

Face Breaker FAQ

How many levels does Face Breaker have?

The game's description lists 45 levels. LEVEL SELECT shows them twelve at a time, three across and four down, with orange arrows to change pages, and only level 1 is open when you begin.

Why are most Face Breaker levels shown with padlocks?

They are not unlocked yet. At the start only the grey tile numbered 1 can be chosen, while the rest show yellow padlocks, so the later levels open up as you clear the earlier ones.

Can Face Breaker be played with touch?

The menus respond to touch: a tap on the title screen opens LEVEL SELECT, and the phone layout adds a QUIT button between the music and speaker buttons. The screens are portrait, so hold the phone upright.
