About Up, Up, and Oops!

Up, Up, and Oops! builds a tower out of floating tiles and poses the same question on every tile: where does the path lead next? If it carries straight on, you jump forward. If it bends, you press the direction it turns. A gauge counts down on each tile, so the decision has to land before it empties, and the tiles collapse if you are too slow.

Three ways to play give the climb different shapes. Classic mode is a ladder of levels that get longer and harder, and each new run picks up after the latest level you cleared. Endless mode is a pure chase for your highest step. Both give you three lives, plus one revive once those are gone. The multiplayer race puts you against up to five other climbers for two minutes, where the higher step wins and a fall sends you back to the last checkpoint, placed every 20 steps. Along the way you earn stars and unlock new characters, tiles and titles.

How to play Up, Up, and Oops!

Objective

Climb as high as you can up the floating path by choosing the correct move for every tile before its gauge runs out, clearing levels or outclimbing rival players.

Controls

Desktop

  • W or Up Arrow: move upward
  • S or Down Arrow: move downward
  • A or Left Arrow: move left
  • D or Right Arrow: move right
  • Spacebar: jump forward

Mobile

  • UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT buttons: step in the chosen direction on screen
  • JUMP button: jump forward the way your character is facing

Getting started

  1. Pick a mode: Classic for a run of levels, Endless for a high score, or the multiplayer race against other players.
  2. Check the next tile; when the path runs straight on, press Spacebar or the JUMP button to jump forward.
  3. If the path turns, press the direction it continues in, using W, A, S, D, the arrow keys or the on-screen direction buttons.
  4. Make each choice before the gauge runs out, since the gauge sets the time limit for every single tile.
  5. In Classic, clear every step of a level to unlock the next one; your following run starts from there.

Tips

  • The JUMP button moves you forward in the direction your character faces, so after a turn, check which way you are pointed before jumping.
  • In Classic mode, new steps earn rewards even on a failed run, so pushing a little further each attempt still pays off.
  • Classic and Endless give three lives and a single revive, so treat the revive as a last resort for a run that is already going well.
  • In the multiplayer race, checkpoints sit every 20 steps, so getting just past one before a risky stretch limits how far a fall can send you back.

Up, Up, and Oops! FAQ

What modes does Up, Up, and Oops! have?

Classic offers a series of levels that grow longer and harder, Endless is a climb for your best high score, and Online Race pits you against other players for two minutes. Every mode uses the same read-the-path controls.

How many lives do you get in Up, Up, and Oops!?

Three in Classic and Endless. After losing all three, you can use one available revive to continue. Online Race works differently: falling returns you to your latest checkpoint, and those are placed every 20 steps.

How does Online Race work?

Between two and six players compete for two minutes, and whoever reaches a higher step finishes ahead. Falling does not knock you out; it sends you back to the most recent checkpoint, which comes every 20 steps.

What are the phone controls?

On mobile, the on-screen UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT buttons step you toward that side of the screen, and the JUMP button jumps forward the way your character is facing. On a computer, use W, A, S, D or the arrow keys plus Spacebar.
