About Snowball Dash

Snowball Dash is a downhill survival run. A red ball bounces down a snow-covered mountain, and your only job is to shift it left or right so it misses the trees, rocks and other obstacles in its way. There is no finish line to reach; a run lasts until the ball hits something, and the aim is to stay alive longer each time.

Two things keep the descent interesting. The ball gathers speed the farther it gets, so obstacles that were easy to read near the top arrive much faster later in a long run. Glowing crystals are scattered down the slope too, and each one you collect raises your score, which means you keep choosing between a safe line and a detour for points. Keyboard players steer with A and D or the arrow keys, while on a touch screen you press the side of the display you want to move toward.

How to play Snowball Dash

Objective

Keep the red ball bouncing down the mountain without hitting trees, rocks or other obstacles, survive longer than your last run, and collect crystals to push the score higher.

Controls

Desktop

  • A or Left Arrow: move the ball left
  • D or Right Arrow: move the ball right

Mobile

  • Touch the left side of the screen: move left
  • Touch the right side of the screen: move right

Getting started

  1. Start a run and watch the red ball begin bouncing down the snowy slope toward the first trees and rocks.
  2. Press A or the Left Arrow, or touch the left half of the screen, to nudge the ball left around an obstacle.
  3. Press D or the Right Arrow, or touch the right half, whenever the safer gap lies to the right.
  4. Steer through glowing crystals when the path allows, since each one you collect pushes your score higher.
  5. Expect the ball to speed up as the descent continues, and start each move earlier to keep the run going.

Tips

  • Speed rises the deeper you go, so begin each dodge sooner on long runs; the reaction time that worked near the top will be too slow later.
  • Crystals add to your score, yet one crash ends the run, so let a crystal go when grabbing it would put the ball right next to a tree or rock.
  • The ball only moves left and right, so staying near the middle of the slope leaves room to dodge either way when something appears.
  • On a touch screen, rest a thumb on each side of the display so either direction is one quick press away when the pace picks up.

Snowball Dash FAQ

How do you steer the ball in Snowball Dash?

Use A or the Left Arrow to go left and D or the Right Arrow to go right on a keyboard. On a touch screen, touching the left or right side of the display moves the ball toward that side.

What are the glowing crystals for?

Crystals sit along the path down the mountain, and collecting them boosts your score. They are worth chasing when the line is clear, but avoiding trees and rocks comes first because a collision ends the run.

Does Snowball Dash get harder the longer you play?

Yes. The ball travels faster the deeper it goes down the mountain, so obstacles come at you more quickly and dodging gets tougher. Outlasting your previous attempt is the real goal of each run.
