About Takeover

Takeover is a real-time strategy game set in the fight for Rivadis. You lead one of three nations, and each has five types of squads, three types of strongholds and its own magic spells. A mission is won by keeping your strongholds safe while your squads attack the enemy and capture their buildings, with everything happening in real time.

The economy sits behind the fighting. Every troop costs spare supply points, which come from castles, towers and farms, so a camp that cannot support a squad needs farms first. Gold mines add gold, obelisks produce mana, and magic towers grant powerful magic, let you hire special units and recharge your ultimate power. Edicts add bonuses on top. Enemies include advancing undead forces and Horde barbarians holding a well fortified castle in the north.

How to play Takeover

Objective

Protect your strongholds and capture the enemy's buildings, growing your supply with farms and your mana with obelisks until the fight for Rivadis is won.

Controls

Desktop

  • Click the Guards button: hire a squad of Guards
  • Drag a squad icon onto an enemy squad: attack it
  • Click a build site, then the farm construction button: build a farm
  • Click the recharged ultimate power: use the power of the Lord
  • Click: continue past advisor messages

Mobile

  • Tap the Guards button: hire a squad of Guards
  • Drag a squad icon onto an enemy squad: attack it
  • Tap again: confirm the action you picked

Getting started

  1. Press the Guards button when the first advisor message appears to hire your opening squad of well trained Guards.
  2. When undead forces advance, drag the Guards icon onto the enemy squad to send your troops into the attack.
  3. Select a build site and press the farm construction button, then the Farm button, to raise extra supply points.
  4. Use those supply points to hire more squads, because troops cannot be bought without enough spare supply.
  5. Once a magic tower is yours, click the recharged ultimate power to call down the power of the Lord.
  6. Push on toward the Horde barbarians' fortified castle in the north once your farms can support a bigger army.

Tips

  • Supply is the real limit on your army: castles, towers and farms provide it, so build farms early whenever you are blocked from hiring troops.
  • Magic towers do three jobs, granting magic, hiring special units and recharging your ultimate power, so they are worth capturing before plainer buildings.
  • Obelisks are the source of mana for spells, so keep at least one running if you plan to lean on your nation's magic.
  • For the side goals, aim to hold 7 farms, 7 mines or 7 obelisks at once, field 20 squads together, or gather 3000 gold in one mission.

Takeover FAQ

How do supply points work in Takeover?

Every squad you hire needs spare supply points, and you cannot buy troops without them. Castles, towers and farms provide supply, so building farms on open sites is the quickest way to grow your army.

How many nations and squad types are there?

There are three nations to lead in the battle for Rivadis. Each one has five types of squads, three types of strongholds and its own magic spells, so the nation you lead shapes your options.

How do you attack an enemy squad on a phone?

Drag your squad's icon onto the enemy squad, the same move the opening advice teaches with the Guards. Some choices ask you to tap again to confirm, which helps prevent mistaken orders.

What side goals does Takeover track?

They include controlling 7 farms, 7 mines or 7 obelisks at the same time, having 20 squads at once, raising a stronghold to its MAX level and collecting 3000 gold in a single mission.
