About Ringo Starfish
Ringo Starfish follows a starfish adventurer exploring a mysterious island under the sea, hunting for treasure that has been hidden there. The levels are platform stages strewn with crystals to collect, guarded by a mix of enemies and tricky traps, and drawn in detailed pixel art with a deliberately retro feel.
Ringo has three abilities to work with. Firepower lets him take on foes and barriers, swimming carries him through the watery parts of the island, and an invincibility power protects him when the way ahead is too dangerous to face normally. Choosing the right one for each obstacle is the core skill. A checkpoint system rounds things out: using checkpoints well means a mistake sends you back only a short way instead of to the very start, so planning around them becomes part of the strategy for exploring the whole island.
