About Neon Snake
Neon Snake keeps the old rules and adds a scoring engine. You steer a glowing snake around a dark grid, eating orbs to grow longer and earn points. Eating orbs back to back builds a combo multiplier that climbs from x2 to x4, x6 and finally x8, but hesitating breaks the chain and drops it back to x1. Hitting the boundary or your own tail ends the run on the spot.
Power-ups shape the risk. Speed boosts send the snake rushing across the grid for daring shortcuts, slow orbs ease the pace when the tail is long and space is tight, and rare bonus stars give huge point spikes but blink for only about two seconds. Every run feeds global leaderboards, with a weekly table that resets every seven days next to the all-time rankings, and a long chain on a short snake can outscore a slow crawl with a long one.

How to play Neon Snake
Objective
Eat orbs to grow and score, keep the combo chain going toward x8, and avoid the single collision with the boundary or your own tail that ends the run.
Controls
Desktop
- Arrow keys: steer the snake in four directions
- Spacebar: activate a speed boost or slow orb when available
Mobile
- Swipe: steer the snake in four directions
- Tap: activate a speed boost or slow orb when available
Getting started
- Start a run and steer the snake around the dark grid with the arrow keys or swipes.
- Eat your first orbs to grow, then keep eating without pausing to raise the combo multiplier.
- Watch for speed boosts and slow orbs, and press Spacebar or tap to use one when it is available.
- Grab any bonus star the moment it appears, since it only blinks on the grid for a couple of seconds.
- Stay clear of the boundary and your own tail; one collision ends the run and shows your score and combo stats.
Tips
- Combo chains count for more than raw length, so a short snake holding x8 can beat a long one crawling along at x1.
- Use speed boosts only once you know where your tail runs, because a fast sprint into your own body ends the run instantly.
- When the board gets crowded, pop a slow orb, work out your next sweep through a cluster of orbs, then speed back up.
- Steer so the snake curls back toward groups of orbs; eating several close together is the easiest way to keep the multiplier climbing.

Neon Snake FAQ
How high can the combo multiplier go in Neon Snake?
Up to x8. Each orb eaten in quick succession pushes it from x2 to x4, x6 and then x8. Hesitating or crashing breaks the chain, and the multiplier falls back to x1.
When do the weekly leaderboards reset in Neon Snake?
Every seven days. The weekly table tracks your best score over that period, while the all-time leaderboard keeps your highest run permanently. Both favor strong combos and well-timed power-ups over sheer length.
How do you use power-ups on a phone in Neon Snake?
Swipe to steer and tap to activate a speed boost or slow orb when one is available. On desktop the arrow keys steer and the Spacebar triggers power-ups. It is playable on desktop as well as Android and iOS.
What ends a run in Neon Snake?
A single collision. Running into your own tail or the grid's boundary ends the game at once, totals your score and shows your combo stats. There are no checkpoints or second chances to fall back on.
