About Knives

Knives is a short-session arcade game built on one action: throwing a knife into a rotating surface. Each throw sticks into the target as it spins, and every knife already lodged there becomes an obstacle for the one after it. Strike one of those blades and the run is over, so each throw has to find a clear gap.

Points build with every clean throw, and the aim is a personal record you can share as a challenge to others. The difficulty climbs as you go, and with every knife that lands, there is less open space on the target, so the timing gets tighter. The target sits on a tall screen that matches a phone in one hand, and a computer can run it as well.

How to play Knives

Objective

Land as many knives as you can in the spinning target without striking one that is already there, and push your points total past your record.

Getting started

  1. Hold your phone straight up so the target fits the tall screen, or open Knives on a computer.
  2. Watch the target rotate for a moment to get a feel for its speed before your first throw.
  3. Throw your first knife into an open part of the surface.
  4. Before each new throw, find the gap between the knives already stuck in the target and wait for it to come round.
  5. Keep throwing until a knife strikes another blade, then try to beat your points record on the following run.

Tips

  • The danger grows with every hit, since each knife you land is one more blade to avoid, so use the early throws to space them evenly.
  • Throw as a gap is arriving rather than chasing one that is already moving away, so the knife lands in the middle of the space.
  • Your score is a record to beat, so play for steady, clean throws; one greedy throw into a narrow gap ends the run.

Knives FAQ

What ends a game of Knives?

Hitting a knife that is already stuck in the rotating target. Each successful throw adds another blade to avoid, so the run ends the moment one of your throws strikes an earlier knife.

Does Knives get harder as you play?

Yes. The difficulty increases as you go, and the target fills with your own knives, leaving smaller gaps and less room for error on each throw.

Is there a score to beat?

Your points form a record, and the game lets you share it as a challenge for others to top. Clean, well-timed throws are the only way to push that total higher.
