About Vegan Quest
Vegan Quest plays out on a plain dark screen. Your hero is a drooling smiley face near the bottom edge, and emoji food rains down from the top: broccoli, tomatoes, strawberries, corn, avocados, carrots, cucumbers, eggplants and grapes on one side, and steak, drumsticks, bacon, burgers, hot dogs, cheese, milk, eggs and shrimp on the other. You slide the face left and right to get under the plant foods. A good bite turns it into a grin; a bad one makes it look sick.
The scoring has a twist. Each vegan item you eat adds 20 points, each one you let drop past costs 5, and anything non-vegan takes one of your three hearts instead of points. Every 400 points moves you up a level and fills the hearts back to three. The pace climbs steadily: food drifts down slowly on Level 1 but falls roughly four times faster by Level 7, with far more items on screen at once.

How to play Vegan Quest
Objective
Eat as much plant food as you can to climb levels, which arrive every 400 points and refill your hearts. The run ends when non-vegan food has taken all three hearts.
Controls
Desktop
- Mouse or touchpad: the hero snaps to the pointer's horizontal position, even while an arrow key is held
- Left and Right arrow keys: each press moves the hero a short step sideways
- S key: start a run from the title screen
- P key: pause, and press it again to resume
- R key on the GAME OVER screen: start a new run from Level 1
Mobile
- START button: begin a run
- Tap or drag anywhere: the hero jumps to your finger's horizontal position
- PAUSE button at the top right: pause; tap RESUME to continue
Getting started
- Read the start screen, which lists mouse, touch pad or arrow keys for movement plus P, R and S, then press S or START.
- Food starts falling within a few seconds; move under the first fruit or vegetable you see and keep away from meat, dairy and eggs.
- Watch the top-left line, which shows the level, your points and your hearts, so every 20-point bite and 5-point miss is visible at once.
- Push for 400 points to reach Level 2, which refills all three hearts; each later level comes after another 400 points.
- When the last heart goes, GAME OVER! appears over the frozen screen; press R, or the RESTART button, to begin again at Level 1.
Tips
- A non-vegan bite costs a heart however many points you hold, so never risk a grab next to a steak or burger; points cannot buy back a lost heart.
- Missed plant food costs 5 points each, so on a crowded screen chase the lowest vegetable first and let higher ones come to you.
- Steer with the mouse rather than the arrow keys: the hero jumps straight to the pointer, while each arrow press moves it only a short step.
- On later levels items overlap, so check that nothing non-vegan is falling in the same column before moving under a vegetable.
- When you are down to one heart, play for the next 400-point mark; the level-up refills all three, as it did between Level 5 and Level 6.

Vegan Quest FAQ
What happens if you catch non-vegan food in Vegan Quest?
You lose a heart, and your points stay where they were. The hero also pulls a sick face for a moment. You have three hearts, they refill only when you reach a new level, and the run ends with GAME OVER! when the last one goes.
How do you level up in Vegan Quest?
Levels arrive every 400 points: Level 2 at 400, Level 3 at 800, and so on, with Level 7 at 2,400 in a long run. Each level-up refills your hearts to three, and the food falls faster and in larger numbers than on the level before.
Can Vegan Quest be played on a phone?
Yes. The phone start screen tells you to use the touch screen, and tapping or dragging anywhere moves the hero to that spot along the bottom. The PAUSE button sits at the top right. Small arrow hints beside the hero at the start show that it moves left and right.
Why does the score drop when nothing has been eaten?
Every vegan item that falls past the bottom of the screen costs 5 points, so standing still loses points quickly, although the score stops at zero. Eating a vegan item is worth 20, which means one catch makes up for four misses.
