About Drill the Snake
Drill the Snake puts a single machine between the surface and a monster. A giant snake built from segments is climbing through winding tunnels underground, and the only weapon you have is a drill that swings back and forth like a pendulum. Each strike you launch can shatter part of the body, and the snake has to be broken apart piece by piece before its head pushes through to the top.
Everything runs on one button, so the skill lies in timing. You watch the arc of the swing, wait for the drill to line up with the body and fire. Between runs the drill can be upgraded, and a roguelike card system changes the options you get each time, so no two attempts play out quite the same. On desktop the attack sits on the spacebar, and on a phone a tap launches it.

Getting started
- Watch the drill swing like a pendulum for a moment so you can read the rhythm of its arc.
- Follow the snake as it crawls up the winding tunnel and note where its body segments cross the drill's path.
- Press the spacebar, or tap on a phone, when the swing lines up with a segment to launch the strike.
- Keep breaking segments one after another so the snake shrinks before its head reaches the surface.
- Between runs, upgrade the drill and make use of the roguelike card system, which changes on every attempt.
Tips
- A strike that misses gives the snake more time to climb, so wait for a clean line-up instead of firing the moment a segment appears.
- Break segments early while the snake is still deep in the tunnels, because the danger grows the closer its head gets to the surface.
- The roguelike cards change each run, so look at them fresh every time rather than repeating last run's choices out of habit.
- With only one button to press, drill upgrades are the main way to get more out of each well-timed hit, so invest in them between attempts.
