About Yeti Run

Yeti Run is a ski run that never reaches the bottom. The slope goes on forever, the game controls your speed, and your only job is the carving: steering left and right to thread paired gates while avoiding trees, rocks and lift pylons. Speeds climb the longer you last, so the line that felt comfortable early on gets much tighter later.

Gates are where points come from. Passing between each pair scores and grows your combo, while missing one resets it to nothing. Clipping a tree, rock or pylon finishes the run outright. Then there is the yeti, always somewhere behind you. He is not able to finish a run for you, yet if he reaches you he pushes you off the trail into slow, deep powder and wipes your combo, which can sting more than a crash. Snowmen picked up on the slope act as currency for skins in the shop, missions add bonus snowmen, and a flag marks your best distance for the next attempt to beat.

How to play Yeti Run

Objective

Ski as far down the endless mountain as you can, threading gates to build combos, avoiding every tree, rock and pylon, and planting your best-distance flag further down each time.

Controls

Desktop

  • Drag the mouse left and right: carve down the mountain

Mobile

  • Drag your finger left and right: carve down the mountain
  • Tap once: start a new run right after the last one ends

Getting started

  1. Push off and steer by dragging left and right with your finger or the mouse; speed is handled for you.
  2. Aim for the paired gates and ski between them to score points and start building a combo.
  3. Avoid trees, rocks and lift pylons, since hitting any of them ends the run at once.
  4. Keep ahead of the yeti behind you, or he will push you into deep snow and wipe your combo.
  5. Collect snowmen on the way down, then spend them on skins in the shop.
  6. After a crash, tap once to head straight back to the slope and try to pass your best-distance flag.

Tips

  • Missing one gate wipes the combo, so give up on a gate you cannot reach cleanly rather than swerving into a tree to catch it.
  • The yeti cannot end a run, but obstacles can; if you must choose, let the yeti catch you rather than clip a rock or pylon.
  • Speed keeps rising on its own, so make smaller, earlier steering corrections as the run goes on instead of sharp last-moment swerves.
  • Missions pay bonus snowmen, so they are a useful extra source of currency when you are saving for a particular skin.

Yeti Run FAQ

Does the yeti end your run in Yeti Run?

No. If the yeti catches you, he knocks you sideways into slow, deep snow and your combo is lost, but the run continues. Only hitting a tree, rock or lift pylon ends it.

How do combos work in Yeti Run?

Each time you ski between a pair of gates you score points and the combo grows. Miss a gate and the combo resets, and being caught by the yeti wipes it too, so clean lines through every gate pay best.

What are snowmen for?

Snowmen are the currency. Grab them on the slope and earn bonus snowmen by completing missions, then spend them on skins in the shop. Progress itself is measured by the flag marking your best distance.

How do you steer on a phone?

Drag your finger left and right across the screen. On a computer you drag the mouse the same way. Steering is the entire control scheme, since the game handles your speed, and a single tap starts a new run.
