About Find the rule
Find the rule is a minimalist number puzzle about spotting patterns. Each round puts a sequence of numbers on the screen with a question mark where one value should be, and your job is to work out the rule that links them and pick the number that belongs in the gap. Four answers are offered every time, and all of them look plausible, so guessing rarely gets you far while careful reasoning does.
Two modes frame the puzzles. Level Mode is an endless climb through procedurally generated levels that get harder as you go, with hints for tough spots and the option to skip a level that has you stuck. Daily Challenge sets 10 puzzles each day, times you against your own average and shows a speed percentile compared with players worldwide. A streak counter and global leaderboards add a competitive edge for anyone who comes back daily.

Getting started
- Choose Level Mode for an open-ended run of increasingly hard puzzles, or Daily Challenge for the set of 10 daily ones.
- Read the number sequence carefully and check whether the gaps between neighbours stay the same or change in a pattern.
- Work out what number fits where the question mark sits, then compare it with the four answer options.
- Select your answer by tapping its button, clicking it, or pressing the key from 1 to 4 that matches it.
- If a level has you stuck in Level Mode, use a hint or skip it and carry on with the following puzzle.
Tips
- On a computer, keep a hand on the 1 to 4 keys; quick selection matters in Daily Challenge, where your time is compared with your own average.
- Because all four options look plausible, confirm your rule against every number in the sequence, not just the last two, before you commit.
- In Level Mode, try a hint before skipping, so you still learn something about how the rule works before you move on.
- Play the Daily Challenge every day to keep your streak alive, since the game tracks it alongside your speed percentile.

How do you answer with the keyboard in Find the rule?
Press 1, 2, 3 or 4 to pick one of the four options quickly, or click the option with your mouse. Esc closes menus. On phones and tablets, you tap one of the four option buttons instead.
What is the Daily Challenge?
It is a daily set of 10 puzzles. You try to beat your average time, and the game shows your speed percentile against players worldwide. A streak tracks your run of days, and global leaderboards rank the results.
Can you skip a hard level?
Yes. In Level Mode you can use a hint or skip a level when you get stuck. The levels are generated procedurally and keep going with rising difficulty, so another sequence is always waiting after the one you pass over.
