About Idle Game Dev Simulator
Idle Game Dev Simulator begins with $31, a dusty laptop and a cracked garage for an office. Opening the action menu in the center of the room lets you plan a release: pick a genre such as Puzzle, Strategy or Adventure, add a theme like Cyberpunk or Fantasy, choose a platform and hit Develop. Early games often flop, and that is part of the loop. Reviews and ratings show what worked, and the money goes into upgrades like Simple Physics or Dynamic Music, which lift the Design, Art and Sound stats of whatever you make next.
Over time the studio grows. A quest tracker with 14 tasks awards experience and cash, your rank climbs through the Solo-Developer tiers up to III, and new platforms open. Moving out of the garage takes Solo-Developer II and $450,000. Research unlocks new content and automation, staff take over production, and revenue keeps ticking per second while you are away. Prices inflate with your earnings, from $31 upgrades to late tech such as Realistic Animation V3 at $1.99 billion.

How to play Idle Game Dev Simulator
Objective
Grow from a one-person garage setup into a top game studio by releasing well-rated games, buying tech upgrades, researching new content and automating production.
Controls
Desktop
- Click the center of the room: open the action menu and start a project
- Click the right sidebar: buy tech upgrades and research new content
Mobile
- Tap the workspace: open the action menu and start a project
- Swipe: move between the Design, Tech and Research tabs
Getting started
- Click or tap the middle of the garage room, which opens the action menu for your first game.
- Choose a genre, add a theme and a platform, then press Develop and wait for the release to finish.
- Read the reviews and ratings that come back, and note which genre and theme pairing scored best.
- Spend the revenue on an early upgrade such as Simple Physics or Dynamic Music to raise your Design, Art and Sound stats.
- Open the Research tab for fresh content, and work through the quest tracker tasks for experience and cash.
Tips
- Strategy paired with Adventure is a balanced starting combo for Design, Art and Sound, and Simple Physics is a sensible first upgrade.
- Unlocking new themes in the Research tab early raises revenue faster than any single upgrade, so do not ignore it.
- Aim for Solo-Developer II rank and $450,000 in the bank, because both are needed to leave the garage.
- Research automation and hire staff before long breaks, since an automated studio keeps earning revenue per second offline.
