About God Of Entropy

God Of Entropy belongs to the falling-sand genre, the kind of digital toy where materials behave by their own rules once you put them into the world. You pick an element from a toolbar, paint it onto the scene and watch how it interacts with everything else around it. With dozens of elements to play with, those interactions can set off chain reactions, raise structures or tear them down again.

Two modes split the game. Story Mode gives each level a goal that you complete with the elements made available, and clearing those goals moves the story forward. Sandbox Mode removes the limits, letting you build your own scenes, experiment freely and unlock achievements along the way. A brush-size control, a straight-line tool and a pause menu round out the toolkit.

How to play God Of Entropy

Objective

In Story Mode, meet each level's goal with the elements provided to advance the story; in Sandbox Mode, experiment freely, build scenes and unlock achievements.

Controls

Desktop

  • Left toolbar icons: click one to choose an element
  • Left click and drag: paint the selected element
  • Shift plus left click and drag: draw a straight line
  • Mouse wheel or on-screen slider: change brush size
  • Esc: pause or open the menu

Getting started

  1. Choose Story Mode for level goals that move the plot along, or Sandbox Mode for open experimentation.
  2. Click an icon in the left toolbar to pick the element you want to work with.
  3. Hold the left mouse button and drag across the scene to paint that element, resizing the brush with the mouse wheel or slider.
  4. Hold Shift while you click and drag whenever you need a perfectly straight line of material.
  5. Watch how the elements interact and set off chain reactions, and in Story Mode keep going until the level's goal is met.
  6. Press Esc at any time to pause the simulation or reach the menu.

Tips

  • In Story Mode, check which elements the level provides before painting, since the goal has to be met with only what is available.
  • Use Shift with left click and drag to lay down straight walls or floors whenever a structure needs clean edges.
  • Shrink the brush with the mouse wheel for precise placements and enlarge it for big fills, rather than repainting the same area again and again.
  • Treat Sandbox Mode as a lab: trying unusual element combinations there is how you find new chain reactions and unlock achievements.

God Of Entropy FAQ

What is the difference between Story Mode and Sandbox Mode?

Story Mode sets a goal for each level that you complete using the elements on offer, and finishing goals moves the story forward. Sandbox Mode has no limits: you experiment freely, create your own scenes and unlock achievements.

How do you draw straight lines in God Of Entropy?

Hold Shift, then left click and drag. Without Shift, left click and drag paints freely. You can change the brush size with the mouse wheel or the on-screen slider, and pick elements from the toolbar on the left.

What can the elements in God Of Entropy do?

There are dozens of them, and their interactions can trigger chain reactions, build creations up or destroy them. Mixing them is the heart of the sandbox, and discovering what happens when they meet ties into the achievements.
