About Nexus Override
Nexus Override sets you loose as a rogue AI trapped inside a cyberpunk mainframe arena. Waves of hostile programs pour in, and your character fires at them automatically, so your decisions are all about where you stand, when you dash and what you build. Walls and turrets can be placed in the middle of a fight to block a lane or add firepower where it is needed.
As the fighting goes on you gather XP, level up and choose from a set of upgrades every round, and the credits you earn on a run go into stat upgrades for the next attempt. Escaping means pushing through six sectors, each with its own difficulty and its own boss. Additional characters and skins unlock along the way. You can play alone or bring a second player into local co-op, with one person moving on WASD and the other on the arrow keys.

How to play Nexus Override
Objective
Survive the waves of hostile programs and defeat the boss of each of the six sectors to break the rogue AI out of the mainframe.
Controls
Desktop
- WASD: move player one
- Arrow keys: move player two
- Space: dash, once unlocked through an upgrade
- 1: build a wall
- 2: deploy a turret
- Shooting: automatic, no input needed
Getting started
- Choose solo play or two-player local co-op; player one moves with WASD while player two uses the arrow keys.
- Move around the arena and let your character shoot on its own at the hostile programs closing in.
- Press 1 to build a wall or 2 to deploy a turret when a wave starts crowding your position.
- Collect XP as the wave goes on, level up and pick one of the upgrades offered that round.
- After a run, spend the credits you earned on stat upgrades, then head back in to reach later sectors and their bosses.
Tips
- Since you never aim, spend every moment on positioning and keep moving so enemy programs cannot pin you against the edge of the arena.
- Go after the dash upgrade early, because Space does nothing until it is unlocked and a quick burst away from a crowd can save a run.
- Place walls so they steer enemies past a turret, letting the defences on keys 1 and 2 work together instead of standing alone.
- Spend credits on stats between runs before trying a harder sector, since each one raises the difficulty and brings its own boss.
- In co-op, cover different sides of the arena so the automatic fire from both characters reaches more of the incoming wave.

Nexus Override FAQ
Can two people play Nexus Override on one computer?
Yes. Nexus Override has two-player local co-op: player one moves with WASD and player two with the arrow keys. Both characters shoot on their own, and every sector can also be played solo.
How does the dash work in Nexus Override?
The dash sits on Space but is not available from the start. It unlocks through an upgrade, and once you have it, it gives you a quick way to break away when enemy programs close in around you.
What are sectors in Nexus Override?
Sectors are the six stages of the escape from the mainframe. Each has its own difficulty and a boss fight, and they unlock as you progress, with enemies growing more dangerous the further you get.
Do you need to aim in Nexus Override?
No, shooting is fully automatic. Your input goes into moving, dashing once it is unlocked, and pressing 1 or 2 to build walls and deploy turrets, so good positioning matters more than accuracy.
