Fractal Combat X is aerial combat in 3D, flown over striking fractal landscapes on foreign planets. The pace is fast and arcade-like, and the intensity climbs steadily as you progress. Story mode holds dozens of missions, and new missions are added every day, so there is always another sortie to take on after the campaign.
Two modes, Arcade and Simulator, give you two different ways to fly, so the handling can match your taste. Objective
Fly through the Story mode missions over fractal alien landscapes, win each air battle, and upgrade your aircraft to unlock new jets and skills.
Getting started
- Choose Arcade or Simulator mode first; they are the two ways to fly, and trying both shows which suits you.
- Start Story mode and take on the first of its dozens of missions over the fractal terrain.
- Focus on staying alive in the early sorties, using evasive maneuvers to slip away from enemy fire before lining up your own attacks.
- After a few missions, put upgrades into your aircraft and look out for new jets and skills as they unlock.
- Return on later days for the fresh missions that are added daily alongside the Story campaign.
Tips
- Missions grow more intense as you advance, so upgrade your aircraft before pushing deeper into Story mode rather than after a string of losses.
- Arcade and Simulator are separate modes, so if one feels awkward, the other may suit your flying better on the same missions.
- The daily missions sit outside the Story campaign, which makes them a handy place to try out a newly unlocked jet or skill.
