About Basketball Stars
Basketball Stars puts legendary players and teams on one court for short, comic matches. You pick a favorite team, then play either 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2. Single-player mode pits you against computer opponents, while 2-player mode lets a friend join on the same keyboard. Offense and defense both count: three-pointers and big dunks put points on the board, and steals win the ball back.
Beyond one-off games there is a cup ladder. Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups exist for both 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 play, and a Hard mode repeats them at a tougher level. Tournaments even include a 3rd place match. A set of achievements adds extra targets, from scoring 25 points in a single match to reaching 500 points overall or 150 within one tournament.

How to play Basketball Stars
Objective
Outscore your opponent in 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 games, then work through the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups, including their Hard mode versions.
Controls
Desktop
- Keyboard: shoot, steal and slam dunk; in 2-player mode both players share the same keyboard
Getting started
- Pick single-player to face the computer, or 2-player mode to take on a friend who shares your keyboard.
- Choose between a 1 vs 1 duel and a 2 vs 2 game, then select a favorite team of legends.
- In the first match try every move: shoot from range for three-pointers, drive in for dunks and steal on defense.
- Enter the Bronze Cup once matches feel comfortable, then step up to the Silver and Gold Cups.
- After winning the regular Gold Cup, switch to Hard mode, which has its own cups and achievements.
Tips
- Buzzer Beater asks for five scores after the final buzzer, so always release one last shot as time expires instead of letting the possession die.
- Match Leader needs 25 points in one game; mixing three-pointers into your offense gets there faster than relying on dunks alone.
- Tournament Leader counts 150 points across a whole tournament, so keep scoring even in matches you are already winning comfortably.
- Steals are the defensive weapon here; taking the ball back stops the opponent's run and hands you a fresh scoring chance.

Basketball Stars FAQ
Can two people play Basketball Stars on one computer?
Yes. In 2-player mode both players share the same keyboard, so a friend can sit beside you for a local match. Without a second player, single-player mode sets you against computer opponents instead.
What cups can you win in Basketball Stars?
Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups, each available in both 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 modes. Every cup also has a Hard mode version, and winning the Gold Cup on Hard is the toughest prize among the achievements.
Does Basketball Stars work on a phone?
It is marked as phone-friendly and uses a landscape screen, so turn the phone sideways. Its controls are built around a keyboard, though, so a computer is the surest way to play, especially with two people.
