About The Tall Man
The Tall Man is first-person survival horror set in a forest at night. Nine pages are hidden among pine trees, abandoned shacks, rusted cars, cemetery ruins and walls painted with eerie murals, and you have to gather all of them before a supernatural entity starts hunting you. The HUD keeps a countdown timer, a page counter, a battery gauge for your flashlight and a mini-map of your position in view.
Pages spawn semi-randomly, so each run plays out a little differently. The flashlight battery never recharges, which makes light the resource you manage most carefully, and sprinting burns stamina that runs out. Keys you find open barrier gates into new zones and widen the search. Every page collected raises the pressure: the entity patrols more tightly, the soundscape grows louder and jump scares come more often. Looking straight at the threat for too long brings screen distortion and audio glitches, a sign to get out of its sight.

How to play The Tall Man
Objective
Gather all nine pages hidden around the woods before the countdown expires and the entity comes for you, while rationing a flashlight battery that never recharges.
Controls
Desktop
- W, A, S, D: walk forward, left, back and right
- Mouse: look around and aim the flashlight
- Shift: sprint, which uses up stamina
Getting started
- Get your bearings with the mouse, then start walking with W, A, S and D while keeping an eye on the mini-map.
- Check the countdown timer and the page counter on the HUD; all nine pages are needed before the time runs out.
- Search tree trunks, mural-covered walls, wrecked vehicles and the cemetery ruins, since pages can turn up in different spots each run.
- Switch the light on only to look for pages or confirm a route, because the battery drains fast and cannot be refilled.
- Pick up any keys you come across to open barrier gates, which lead into new zones where more pages may be waiting.
Tips
- Collect the pages closest to escape routes before working outward in a spiral, so the last pages, when the entity is fiercest, sit near a way out.
- Do not stare at the entity: holding your gaze brings screen distortion, audio glitches and a fast approach, so break line of sight behind a structure.
- Save sprinting for real danger, because stamina is limited and you want some left when the entity shows up.
- Memorize landmarks such as wrecked cars and shacks to avoid looping into dead ends; the map in the corner is useful, yet knowing the ground is better.
- Listen for static crackle and distant footfalls, which hint at how close the threat has come.

The Tall Man FAQ
Can the flashlight battery be recharged in The Tall Man?
No. There is no recharge, so switch the light on only to look for pages or check that a route is safe. Leaving it on too long means stumbling around in the dark later, exactly when you need to see.
What changes as you collect more pages?
Each page makes the game harder. The entity's patrols tighten, the soundscape intensifies and jump scares become more frequent while the countdown keeps going, so the last few pages are the most dangerous ones to find.
What are keys for in The Tall Man?
Keys open barrier gates that block parts of the forest. Opening them unlocks new zones and widens the area where pages can turn up, so pick up every key you come across during a run.
How scary is it?
Very tense. It is horror with jump scares, aimed at teens and adults who like urban-legend stories, and the night forest, a stalking entity, scarce light and rising audio cues keep the pressure on throughout.
