About Left 4 Die
Left 4 Die is a survival shooter set after the apocalypse, in a world where zombies keep coming in endless numbers. You fight on foot with a set of weapons, and the game is built around a simple economy: finish missions and destroy zombies for money and experience, then spend that money on better equipment.
Four characters in the world handle everything outside combat. The commander gives out new missions, the weapons dealer and the armor dealer sell gear, and the barber changes your appearance. As your level rises, stronger equipment becomes available and missions pay more, but the hordes chasing you grow larger too, so progress never makes the game easy. Controls are straightforward: move, attack with the mouse, reload, jump and pick between four weapon slots, which keeps the focus on staying alive.

Objective
Take on the commander's missions and clear out zombies for money and experience, spending it to buy weapons and armor strong enough for ever larger hordes.

Getting started
- Visit the commander first to receive a mission, since missions are a main source of money and experience.
- Get around using W, A, S, D and attack zombies with the left mouse button, pressing R to reload.
- Switch between weapons with keys 1 to 4 and press Space to jump when you need to.
- Complete the mission and keep killing zombies to build up money and experience.
- Return to the weapons dealer and armor dealer to spend your money, and see the barber if you want a new look.
Tips
- Upgrade armor as well as weapons, because higher levels bring more numerous hordes chasing you, not just better rewards.
- Take every mission the commander offers, since mission rewards grow larger as your level climbs.
- Keep different weapons on slots 1 to 4 so you can switch quickly instead of stopping to reload with R when zombies close in.
