About Runic Curse
Runic Curse casts you as Adrian, washed up on a mysterious island after a shipwreck. Ancient ruins and cursed lands hide the truth about the Rune Curse, and somewhere among them is his missing crew. Getting to the bottom of it means exploring ten vast locations, each with its own enemies and bosses, in a world wrapped in shadow.
Combat is built around stamina and timing. Fights involve managing endurance, and rolls grant invulnerability frames, so dodging at the right moment matters as much as attacking. RPG layers sit on top: a level system lets you choose which characteristics to improve, new equipment and abilities open areas that were blocked before, and cold weapons can be paired with magic runes in many ways. You can craft consumable runes, upgrade weapon runes and pick from more than 55 types of spells. Beyond the story, there is an unlimited New Game Plus and a Boss Rush mode.

Getting started
- Before setting out, look at the button layout, which can be customized if the default keys do not suit you.
- Move Adrian with WASD or the arrow keys and jump with Space as you explore the first ruins.
- Fight enemies with the left mouse button, and press Shift to roll through attacks using the invulnerability frames.
- Trigger the abilities assigned to keys 1, 2 and 3 once you have them, keeping an eye on your endurance.
- Open the map with M and the menu with Tab to plan routes and manage equipment, runes and characteristics.
Tips
- Rolls grant invulnerability frames, so roll through an attack at the last moment instead of simply backing away from it.
- Endurance has to be managed in combat, so pace your attacks rather than spending it all in one long flurry against a boss.
- Choose level-up improvements deliberately, since the level system is selective and the equipment and abilities you gain decide which blocked areas you can reach.
- Experiment with weapon and rune pairings; cold weapons and magic runes combine in many ways, and weapon runes can be improved through crafting.
