Treasure hunting underground is the heart of Arcuz Treasure Hunters, a fantasy JRPG. Expeditions lead into cave systems laid out like mazes, where powerful enemies guard the way and rare treasures wait for anyone thorough enough to find them. Fights play out as action-RPG combat, and you do not take them on alone: companions with different abilities can be hired to form a team.
Pushing forward is not enough to clear a map. Puzzles and traps have to be solved, parts of each scene are worth searching, and hidden passages open up for players who watch the environment closely and use their team well. The main story dungeons have fixed layouts and treasures, while a set of randomly generated dungeons, in the Roguelike tradition, adds new treasures and variety beyond the story.
